Private female personal trainer in Hartlebury

Get long-lasting results with personalised training in a supportive environment

My name is Petra Bland, and I am a female personal trainer, offering both private and group coaching to clients in and around Hartlebury.

Together we’ll overcome any barriers or obstacles you’re facing to achieve sustainable weight loss and improve your overall fitness on a long-term basis.

I believe in long-term maintenance, not quick wins. Clients receive personalised systems for fat loss, strength building and muscle gain. We’ll work to improve your overall health and fitness, helping you to feel stronger and fitter (without hating the process).

Why choose me as your personal trainer?

Women climbing a tree

I’ve been there

I am a mum in my 40s, with 2 energetic dogs, and an ever-growing to-do list. I’ve been there and understand the barriers you are facing. I used to put my faith in fad diets hoping for quick fixes. They never worked in the long run and zapped my (little) energy levels. My turning point? Sitting on a bench watching my daughter play, wishing I could play with her, but not have the strength or energy to do so. From this point I changed my mindset, stopped the excuses, and am now living the best version of myself. I have a good relationship with exercise and food, and I can help you get there too.

I’ll keep you on track

It’s hard to keep on track. We often know what we need to do and why, but lack the support and accountability. That’s what I am here for. I’ll make sure you stay on track, and we reach your health and fitness goals within a realistic and sustainable timeline.

I’m there for the hard times

There will be days when you want to quit. I’ll be there to remind you that you can do this, and of the reason you’re doing this in the first place. I’ll be your number one cheerleader on the good and bad days, always offering the support and reassurance you need.

Private home gym in Hartlebury

Personal training services

My services are all focused on building sustainable habits around exercise, nutrition, and improving your overall lifestyle.

In addition to guided support from me during your workout sessions, I’ll be there for you outside your training sessions. As an optional extra, you’ll also be invited to a members only WhatsApp group to meet others, share wins, and ask questions.

If our time together comes to an end I will provide an exit strategy to help you maintain long-term results. I also have a podcast where I share regular fitness, health and nutrition tips and advice.

FAQs

You may feel more comfortable discussing body-specific concerns, hormonal changes and personal goals with a trainer who is also female. I understand and relate to your unique challenges, and pride myself on creating a judgement-free, supportive environment where you can train with confidence.

If you feel more comfortable working out at home, we can discuss this during our initial consultation.

Every new client gets a free initial consultation. We’ll spend time talking about what you want to achieve, current challenges and make sure we’re a right fit for each other.

Yes, of course. I often work with clients who have never had personal training before or any external support with their exercise and nutrition. Don’t worry, I’ll be with you every step of the way.

Yes, I offer specific training plans and support for those who are going through either perimenopause or menopause. I also do interactive workshops, where you can learn more about nutrition, movement, sleep and stress management, and the impact they have.

The most important thing to bring with you is water – to make sure you stay hydrated. Clothing is also important, making sure you wear something that is comfortable and doesn’t restrict movement. Other items depend on whether you’re training at home or my gym in Hartlebury. If you’re working out from home, I’ll suggest equipment to buy or we’ll use what you already have. My gym is outdoors, so you’ll need to make sure you’re dressed for the weather. Other than that, it’s always useful to have a towel handy to wipe away all that sweat from your hard work.

This all depends on your goals (and your financial situation). I have clients who train with me on a weekly, biweekly or monthly basis. I’ll also give you workout plans that you can do at home (or from another gym).

Each workout is personalised to the individual. As a rough idea of what to expect, all sessions start with a warm up, followed by a cool down and stretching. The main section of your workout depends on your goals. Typically we’ll do rounds of different exercises focused on particular areas of the body, with a mix of cardio and weight bearing.

Yes you can cancel at any time. I give all clients an exit strategy so that they continue working on their fitness journey even when we finish working together.

My gym is located at my home in Hartlebury, just off the main A449 road, and a couple of minutes drive from the train station. I’ll share the exact address once we’ve had our free initial consultation. You can park on my driveway or there is plenty of on-street parking close by.

Most of my clients choose to train at my private home gym, but if you would prefer to train in a different location, we’ll discuss this during our free consultation.

Yes, my home gym is outdoors, so a perfect fit if you’re looking to train outside. There is shelter to keep you dry even on those rainy days. With a range of outdoor spaces including Hartlebury Common, Groves Way Park and Hartlebury Castle, we can explore adding other outside workouts to your plan.
